Steps to Enrollment - High School Students

High School (Dual Enrollment)

STEPS TO ENROLLMENT Ìý

1. APPLY FOR ADMISSION            Ìý

Take the first step – it’s fast and easy! Complete and submit your free application online.Ìý

  • New and returning high school students (those with an absence of two consecutive primary terms: fall or spring semesters; excluding summer and winter terms) must complete an n for admission.Ìý

  • Complete your application online on thewebsite. Create an account using a personal email or log in if you already have an account. Remember to write down and save your Student ID number. Allow 2-3 business days for your application to be processed and to receive a Welcome Ãå±±½ûµØ email with your student identification number.Ìý

2. STUDENT ORIENTATION ÌýÌý

Participation in the online orientation is mandatory and offers an overview of academic programs and support services aimed at facilitating your success.ÌýÌý

  • After you receive your Welcome email with your Ãå±±½ûµØ student ID# log into . Your orientation video can be found in Self-Service.ÌýÌý

3. CAREER COACHÌýÌý

While optional, engaging with the online career coach can be beneficial in exploring majors, in-demand careers, and educational paths aligned with your interests.ÌýÌý

4. PLACEMENT SURVEYÌýÌý

It's essential to complete the placement survey to determine your starting point in Math and English, enabling you to progress efficiently towards your goals.ÌýÌý

  • ÌýThe placement survey consists of a 10-minute video and a short survey. It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete and can be accessed by logging into  then click on the Self-Service icon.        ÌýÌý

5. DUAL ENROLLMENT FORMSÌý

Discuss assessment test results and courses you wish to take with your high school counselor or high school official. Complete a andÌýÌýand obtain appropriate signatures.Ìý

  • A new Dual Enrollment form must be completed for each semester until you graduate from high school.Ìý

  • This form must be complete to include all signatures and initials.

  • A separate Parent Authorization form must also be completed. This form is one-time and valid while you are in high school.Ìý

Note: Homeschooled students must provide a copy of their affidavit that has been filed with the Superintendent of Public Instruction through the California Department of Education.Ìý

6. REGISTER FOR CLASSES         Ìý

Ready to register for classes? Log into  and register online for classes on or after your assigned block in the Self-Service. Ìý

  • Self-Service: click on Student Planning and register for classes (on your assigned registration date)ÌýÌýÌý

  • In-Person: Register for classes in Bldg. 23 at the Admissions windows.

STUDENTS must be present with a PHOTO ID for all transactions in-person with Admissions and RecordsÌý

7. REGISTRATION FEES               Ìý

  • In-person – Pay at the Cashier’s Office (Building 23)Ìý

IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CONFIRM THE REGISTRATION OF CLASSES AND PAY FEES. FEE PAYMENT DEADLINES ARE ENFORCED.   Ìý

8. Ãå±±½ûµØ ID CARDÌý

A Ãå±±½ûµØ ID Card is required for all students and must be presented to access specific classes, computer labs, the weight room, and the library.Ìý

  • After you have registered for classes, take a valid I.D. and a copy of your Ãå±±½ûµØ Registration Statement to the  (ASB) in building 44 to receive your Ãå±±½ûµØ ID/ASB card.Ìý

FERPA—Student Privacy RightsÌý

Ãå±±½ûµØâ€¯adheres to the guidelines established by the —a federal legislation established to regulate access and maintenance of student records.Ìý

FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their education records, including the right to:Ìý

  • Inspect their education recordsÌý

  • Request an amendment of the records that the student believes are inaccurateÌý

  • Control disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the students' education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.Ìý

  • File a complaint with the  concerning alleged failures by the college to comply with the requirements of FERPA.Ìý

Parents, spouses and significant others have no inherent right to access student educational records.Ìý
